These are every fee an Etsy seller can encounter in 2026. The first three apply to all US sales; the last two only when Etsy's Offsite Ads program drives the purchase.

For a $30 item plus $5 shipping (US, no offsite ads): $0.20 listing + $2.28 transaction + $1.36 processing = $3.84 total fees. Etsy keeps roughly 9.6% of the $40 order value plus the flat $0.20. With offsite ads at 15%, total fees rise to $9.84 on the same order.
Yes. The 6.5% transaction fee and the 3% + $0.25 payment processing fee are both calculated on the full order total — item price plus the shipping amount you charge the buyer. If you offer free shipping, the fee base is just the item price.
Standard fees are the same regardless of seller tenure. However, Offsite Ads fees differ: sellers with less than $10,000 in annual revenue pay 15% when an offsite ad drives a sale and can opt out of the program. Sellers who exceed $10,000 are locked in and pay a reduced 12% rate instead.
Etsy charges 6.5% transaction + ~3.25% processing + $0.20 listing per sale, totaling roughly 9.7-10% of order value. eBay typically charges 12.9-13.25% final value fee with no separate listing fee for most categories. Shopify has no per-transaction fee on Shopify Payments but charges $29-$299/month in subscription fees.
